Studied Physics at the Universities of Bonn, Tübingen, Portland (Oregon, U.S.A.) and at the Technical University of Berlin. Master’s degree in Physics in 1993. Research work in the fields of experimental semiconductor physics and materials research for optoelectronic devices at the Technical University of Berlin. Doctorate degree in 1998.

Legal training in a Munich law firm from 1998 onwards and since 1999 at Eisenführ Speiser, accompanied by law studies at the Distance-Learning University of Hagen.

Further legal training at the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Patent Court and Munich District Court. Legal training as European Patent Attorney at Eisenführ Speiser.
