Manuel Söldenwagner established and continually advances Eisenführ Speiser’s broad IP Life Science practice. He supports and advises international corporations, universities and academic research establishments, small and medium-sized enterprises, with a special focus on hidden champions, and his clientèle particularly includes venture capital funds and start-ups. He supports clients not only in establishing and managing national and international IP portfolios, or in planning and conducting complex FTO analyses, but also advises and represents them in licensing negotiations, in opposition and nullity proceedings and in infringement proceedings, in Germany, Europe and beyond (e.g. in China), in addition to everyday patent prosecution activities.

Manuel Söldenwagner regularly lectures on patent law in Germany and abroad (e.g. in Japan). He holds workshops and seminars and is a co-author of the EPC textbook The European Patent Application. He is also a co-author of the third edition of the renowned Beck’scher Kommentar on European patent law.

Studied Molecular Biotechnology at Technical University of Munich, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) and a Master’s degree (M.Sc.). Specialized in Biochemical Engineering, Drug Design and Development, Microbiology, IP Management. Study abroad at University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.

Research work in Cambridge, UK, at Antitope Ltd. (field: antibody engineering), in Hamburg, Germany, at Qiagen Hamburg GmbH (field: comparative evaluation of DNA extraction processes) and in Munich, Germany, at Helmholtz Zentrum München (field: genome sequencing).

Patent attorney training at Eisenführ Speiser since 2007 including a period of training at the Mannheim District Court; Law for Patent Attorneys course at the Distance-Learning University of Hagen; further training at the German Patent and Trademark Office and at the German Patent Court.
