Bremen is recognised throughout Germany as a business location for research and development. An above-average number of people are employed in the local institutes and universities. In the article "Beste Bedingungen für Forschung und Entwicklung" in the April issue of the magazine "Wirtschaft in Bremen und Bremerhaven", patent attorney Dr Christian Hanses explains why the number of patent applications filed in the federal state of Bremen is still comparatively low and which technical field is considered to be particularly future-oriented and strong in research.

On the Chamber of Commerce website, Dr Christian Hanses also explains the importance of patent protection for young companies and provides recommendations for the timely protection of potential property rights.
