Sisvel vs. Haier - The Federal Court of Justice justifies landmark decision

In the legal dispute Sisvel vs. Haier, the Federal Court of Justice ruled against Haier twice last year. The first landmark decision of the court was made in May, before it ruled again that Haier infringes another standard-essential (mobile phone)patent of Sisvel in November. This ruling is thus the second landmark decision on SEP and FRAND disputes.

The court has now published its decision with detailed reasons. In it, it again strengthens the rights of patent holders and at the same time tightens the requirements for implementers.

The Hamburg litigation team led by Jochen Ehlers and Désirée Heintz acted for client Sisvel in both proceedings.
