Study “IPR-intensive industries and economic performance in the European Union”

In a joint study, the EPO and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) examine the contribution of IPR-intensive industries to the EU economy. According to the study, these industries account for an exceptionally high share of EU foreign trade: 80% of imports and 82% of exports, according to the study, are carried out by IPR-intensive industries. The high economic power of these industries is also reflected in significantly higher wages and salaries compared to other industries.

Further key findings, a summary and the complete study can be found here.
