The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) has published the Global Innovation Index 2024. The title of the 17th edition of the annual GII is „Unlocking the Promise of Social Entrepreneurship“. The index assesses the innovation performance of over 130 economies and identifies the 100 most important science and technology clusters worldwide.
Switzerland, Sweden, the United States, Singapore and the United Kingdom are the most innovative economies in the world, while China, Turkey, India, Vietnam and the Philippines are the fastest 10-year risers. Germany slips down one place to ninth.
This year's special topic also sheds light on the underexplored linkages between innovation and social entrepreneurship.
