Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Hanover, specialising in power and process engineering, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, apparatus and plant engineering, including a period of study in Turku, Finland; graduated with a Master’s degree in Engineering (mechanical engineering) in 1991; project engineer in special purpose machine design in Manchester, England.

From 1992 onwards, legal training at Eisenführ Speiser in Bremen, at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich and at the Hamburg District Court. Employed in the patent department of a US company in Ohio. Patent Attorney since 1995. European Patent Attorney since 1999 as well as European Trademark Attorney and European Design Attorney. Partner since 2000.

Mark Andres is specialised in patent law. He has special professional experience in the filing and prosecution of German patents and utility models and European patents, as well as in patent infringement proceedings, nullity, opposition and cancellation proceedings and in strategic issues.
Specialised technical fields: general mechanical engineering, automotive, aviation, power and process engineering, coating and fluid engineering, mechatronics, shipbuilding.

Chairman of the Examination Board for Intellectual Property Paralegal.
